LIASON WITH FDA AND REGULATORY BODIES
Prior to founding Global EyeVentures, Dr. Iravani was the Vice President of Clinical and Professional Affairs at CooperVision. Her responsibilities included coordinating and directing internal and external clinical trials, and leading the organization’s professional relations activities including speakers’ bureau, advisory panel and conference planning. She was an active member of CooperVision Global Marketing Committee and was the corporate representative in the ophthalmic community. Dr. Iravani served as the editor-in-chief for the company’s professional newsletter, CooperVision Connected with a circulation of approximately 30,000.
Dr. Iravani brings extensive management experience in the contact lens industry as well as clinical ophthalmology and optometry and offers a wealth of knowledge in clinical science and research design. Dr. Iravani’s clinical background includes serving as director of clinical research and professional relations for Specialty UltraVision, senior research optometrist for Pilkington Barnes Hind, clinical consultant for Wesley Jessen Corporation, and co-investigator for Allergan, Inc. Dr. Iravani has been recognized as one of the successful women in the optical industry as well as a mentor by Women of Vision. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the AOA Contact Lens and Cornea Section, the California Optometric Association, and the Santa Clara County Optometric Association.
Dr. Iravani graduated from the University of California-Irvine with a bachelor of science in biological sciences and received her doctor of optometry degree from the University of Houston, College of Optometry.
